This was the worst course I have taken on Sophia so far. I have taken both History I and II in the past at community college, but decided to take this now because I truly enjoy history and understand that it is so vast that every course will touch on different aspects. Unfortunately, this course does not hold a candle to my past education. For starters, this course should be renamed, "The History of Slavery in the U.S." because the entire course concentrates heavily on slavery. This would not be a problem, except that it severely limits all other material. It also constantly redirects attention back to slavery, even when it would benefit to further study the aspect students are being redirected from. I learned so much more about the native tribes, the presidents, and even the average people in my past courses than I did in this one. Another huge issue this course suffers from is the highly ambiguous questions. Nearly every question had more than one arguably right answer.
